WLAN CRED
Got tired of entering the login credential again and again for IITJ WLAN. This blog will save you :)
The firewall authentication tab opened in chrome should remain running in background. Leave the tab open and do your stuff.
WLAN CRED is a chrome extension that automatically logs you in the firewall authentication of IITJ every time the window opens.
This is an open-source project, you can check the GitHub repository here.
Your Credentials are stored in your browser only and WLAN CRED never shares or sends it out. 🔒
Installation
Step 1. Download the extension file from this link.
Step 2. Locate the zip file downloaded on your computer and unzip it.
Step 3. Go to chrome://extensions/
and check the box for Developer mode in the top right.
Step 4. Click the Load unpacked extension
button and select the unzipped folder for your extension to install.
The extension has been installed!!!
Click on the extension button and Save your credentials in the Popup.
Now, Whenever the connection times out and the firewall page opens up, the extension will automatically enter the saved credentials in the form and submit them. It Will Works if you have saved the correct credentials successfully.
The firewall authentication tab opened in chrome should remain running in background. Leave the tab open and do your stuff. Whenever the connection closes, the login tab opens in the firewall authentication tab and auto logins again.
If there is some issue, you can confirm the credentials by again clicking on the extension popup.
The Extension works in the browser it is installed only (CHROME). If the firewall login page opens in a different browser, just close that window and try surfing net in your chrome then the firewall page will open as a tab in chrome and the extension will work.
